Socio-Historical Context, Mapping of Existing Projects and Obstacles
The study explores the relationships between countries in Central and Eastern Europe and the African continent from the perspective of cultural cooperation. The research draws on case studies, interviews with cultural sector stakeholders, policy documents and strategies, as well as an analysis of support structures in individual countries across the region. The result is a mosaic of experiences, strategies, challenges, and opportunities that reveals not only the strengths but also the blind spots of current approaches to cultural exchange beyond the framework of the European Union.
The study is part of the research strand of the project Deconfining Arts, Culture and Policies in Europe and Africa, funded by the Creative Europe Culture programme (2022–2026).
