The DECONFINING – Arts, Culture and Policies in Europe and Africa project is approaching its conclusion. To mark this occasion, InfoPoint NIK / CzechMobility.Info is publishing the research study Cultural Cooperation between the African Continent and the States of Central and Eastern Europe, which will be available in both English and Czech.

The study focuses on cultural cooperation between the African continent and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. It maps the historical and socio-political context, existing cooperation projects, support structures, and the obstacles that shape intercontinental cultural exchange and artistic mobility.

The study’s findings will be presented at the project’s final conference, Bridging the Gaps. Connecting the Dots., which will take place on 26–27 June 2026 in Chemnitz, Germany, as part of the Theater der Welt 2026 festival.

The conference will provide a platform for sharing the outcomes of the DECONFINING project, presenting research findings, discussing cultural mobility and sustainable cooperation between Europe and Africa, and showcasing artistic projects developed through international residencies.

More information about the programme and registration is available on the DECONFINING project website.
